Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked first.

Scope, pricing, ownership, and what happens after launch — answered plainly. If yours isn’t here, just ask us.

What kinds of projects do you take on?

Custom web applications, internal tools, data pipelines and integrations, AI features and chatbots, and ongoing support for software that's already live. If it needs to be designed, built, and then kept running, it's in scope.

I only have an idea. Is that enough to start?

Yes. A good share of our work starts at exactly that point. We begin with a short discovery engagement that turns the idea into a technical roadmap — what to build first, what to defer, and what it will realistically cost — before anyone writes code.

How do you price work?

Three ways: fixed-bid when the scope is clear enough to commit to, time & materials when requirements are still moving, and a monthly retainer for ongoing support and incremental feature work. We recommend a model after discovery rather than before it.

What does a project typically cost?

It depends on scope, but most first engagements land somewhere between a small scoped build and a full product MVP. The contact form asks for a budget band so we can tell you early — and honestly — whether what you want fits what you've set aside.

How long does a build take?

Discovery is usually one to three weeks. A focused MVP is typically two to four months. Larger platforms run longer and ship in stages, so you have something real in front of users well before the last milestone.

Who owns the code and the IP?

You do. On client work, all source code, designs, and intellectual property transfer to you. We hand over the repositories, infrastructure, and documentation — there's no lock-in that depends on us staying.

What happens after launch?

Support and maintenance are first-class work here, not an afterthought. We offer retainers covering monitoring, security patching, bug fixes, and incremental features. If you'd rather run it in-house, we'll hand it over properly and train your team.

Can you train our team on AI?

Yes. We bundle AI strategy, implementation, and employee training into a single engagement — where AI genuinely earns its place in your workflow, how to build on it, and how your team uses it day to day without needing a research background.

What technologies do you work with?

Mainly TypeScript across the stack, React and Next.js on the front end, Python where the data work calls for it, and cloud infrastructure on the major providers. We pick for what your team can maintain, not for what's fashionable.

Do you work with teams in other time zones?

We're remote-first and work with clients worldwide. We commit to overlapping working hours with your team and keep a written trail — so progress is visible even when we're not online at the same time.

How do we get started?

Send us a note through the contact form with what you're building, roughly what you've set aside for it, and your timeline. We'll reply with an honest read on fit and, if it makes sense, book an introductory call.

Still have a question?

Write to us at hello@planckio.com and we’ll answer it properly — not with a brochure.

Wherever you’re starting from, let’s figure out the next step.

Tell us what you’re building — we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right team for it.
